Actually, this has almost nothing to do with the cross stitch.
I went back to Alien Entertainment today to pick up a copy of The Next Life. (Which I'm listening to right now, BTW.) While I was there, I had a bit of a chat with Gene and he told me something rather interesting.
Apparently, there are some guests that are given gifts and stuff from fans that don't want it. The result being, since they don't know what to do with it all, they usually hand it over to Gene. He didn't give any specific names and I didn't ask. I guess I don't want to know.
Anyhoo, Paul was not like that. He was appreciative of every single gift he was given and he kept every one of them, to the point where he had trouble getting them home. (Witness the cross stitch having to be shipped. BTW, I didn't even bother to ask Gene for the address he was shipping it too. He's too honorable a soul to even consider giving it out.)
Considering all the gifts Paul was given at CT and the enthusiasm with which they were given, thought you all might like to know.
